"When the ordinary becomes timeless."
FAME FRAME Gallery presents The Poetry of Things — an exhibition-competition devoted to the quiet beauty of objects and the silent stories they carry.

Still life has always been a space of contemplation, where ordinary things are transformed into vessels of meaning. In this exhibition, objects are not merely arranged; they are observed, felt, and reimagined. A cup, a fruit, a folded fabric, a forgotten tool — each becomes a fragment of lived experience, charged with memory, atmosphere, and emotion.

The Poetry of Things invites artists to slow down and engage with the material world through attentive eyes and deliberate composition. Light, texture, balance, and absence play equal roles, allowing simplicity to unfold into depth. These works reveal how stillness can speak, and how the smallest details can hold quiet power.

This exhibition seeks to celebrate the art of noticing — reminding us that poetry often lives not in grand gestures, but in the presence of things left still.

First Prize Winner
Olga Tkachova,
Still Life with Pomegranates
Oil on canvas 50 x 60 cm
Czech Republic

"I painted this still life as a reflection on the dignity of objects that bear the imprint of our touch. At the center of the composition is a bronze jug, its curves smoothed by imaginary years, preserving memory. Next to it is a pomegranate. I was drawn to the contrast between concealment and revelation.

This work is my attempt to find poetry, to listen to what inanimate objects might say if we were patient enough to hear them."
Merit Award Winner
Artoliya, Lace of Spring
Quilling (paper filigree)
Bulgaria

"This piece conveys an impression of lightness, where finely shaped paper coils open into floral patterns reminiscent of lacework.
It celebrates refinement in its smallest details."

"From the series "Industrial Silence". Light enclosed in an oil tank dazzles in the empty hall of the rolling mill. It invites you to contemplate so many charming phenomena up close, arousing admiration as if it had forgotten where it was."

After being unexpectedly caught in the rain, there is a vivid image of hastily removing damp apparel. The abandoned garments are left behind, awaiting their chance to be dried and once again worn."

Honorable Mention
Tanya Markvart,
Retrospection
Acrylic ink on birch board
Canada

"Retrospection" (40x30 inches) employs acrylic ink on birch board, with intentional incorporation of the wood grain, to reflect on the space in which individual and collective memories and histories reside. The objects in the painting rest in an open drawer - a symbol for the open, interior space wherein personal and shared stories remain. An antique film camera with an open casket contains dried roses - a metaphor for the unfinished stories of our lives, the creative processes by which they unfurl, and their embedded latencies, which hold the potential for renewal as time unfolds."
